Estimating Rates Document Template

This downloadable item is a template for an estimating rates document, which can be used for all elements of construction projects.

You can enter your plant and labour costs at the top of the document (as can be seen in the screenshot). You can edit these rates to suit your own company needs, or change them to something outside of labour & plant. These rates are frozen to the top of the spreadsheet, so you can click them when completing formulas within your item rates.

There are numerous tabs in the document, so you can split your rates into categories. Within the tabs, you can them enter the item name of the rate you are making, and also put in the estimator name so you can refer back to who has made it. Enter the labour & plant for the rate you are making then put any relevant materials in.

This will give you a total item cost, you can then put a quantity below this which will divide the total cost to this number. As per the screenshot, the item shows the total cost for 40m3 of concrete. 

If you have updates in costs to numbers across the top, you can change these and they will then automatically update in your item build ups, so long as you have selected them.

All of our templates come with instructions on how to use them (we have made them simple to use for ease of use, the instructions are additional guidance). We also have a support email should you need any further assistance.

We have included some screenshots of the sheet, however, this only shows a small part of some of them to give you an idea and prevent copying. The screenshots also do not show formulas used to make the sheets work efficiently.
