Chris Burford-Bradshaw is a Chartered Building Surveyor, (MRICS), and also holds the position of Director at Sutherland Consulting (UK) Ltd, who are Chartered Surveyors, Project Managers and Cost Consultants, specialising in construction.  Before establishing Sutherland Consulting and OnlineQS, Chris was a Partner in the well-respected national construction project management and cost consultancy: Thornton-Firkin.  Chris has previously held senior positions with regional, national and international consultancies, including Drivers Jonas; (acquired by Deloitte in 2010), Sanderson Townend and Gilbert and Hodgson Elkington.  After commencing his initial training in London, Chris has worked in Nottingham, York and Lincoln.  Chris has also worked as a construction and cost consultant for contractors, dealing with both commercial and residential projects.  Over the course of his career, Chris has also undertaken work for large property estate holders including multiple retailers, property and development companies, property investors, independent schools and colleges, owner occupiers, commercial tenants, and central and local government departments.

Our team also includes a RICS-accredited Master’s graduate in Quantity Surveying, with experience across both the public and private sectors. Their background is primarily in civil engineering and groundworks, having operated in both Estimator and Quantity Surveyor roles across numerous projects.

They have delivered commercial and estimating support on a wide range of residential and commercial developments, including multiple road and sewer schemes with associated plotworks. Commercial project experience includes developments for well-known brands such as Starbucks and Aldi, among others.

Additional experience includes working on Ministry of Defence bases such as Menwith Hill in Yorkshire and RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire.

There is strong expertise in groundworks and civil engineering packages, including the pricing and management of S38, S278, and S104 works on residential projects, as well as concrete structures such as foundations, slabs, and retaining walls.
